This one-minute practice is going to be really helpful for those moments of doubt or reflection, or when you just need a little bit more juice to keep on moving forward in the pursuit of your dreams.

FULL TRANSCRIPT

Welcome to the F*ck Saving Face podcast. I'm your host, Judy Tsuei, and together we'll explore mental and emotional health for Asian Americans, especially breaking through any taboo topics. Like may not always be pretty, but it is indeed beautiful. Let's make your story beautiful today.

We've explored a lot this week.

We've talked about how to live authentically both personally and professionally, especially in episode 41, where we interviewed Re Perez, who’s CEO of Branding For The People in Austin, Texas, and wrote that best-selling book, Your Brand Should Be Gay, Even If You’re Not. In episode 40, we also explored my own attorney, which has been definitely not linear about how to become an entrepreneur and to pursue your personal and professional passions.

And to break that trope that we hear so often of how Asian parents want you to become a doctor or a lawyer. I was inspired to make today's mindfulness practice short because sometimes I think you just need to get in, you need a hit it, and then you need to move on with your life with this kind of refreshed moment.

So, especially when it comes to entrepreneurialism where you're really challenged at times to look at yourself and reflect upon what you believe you're capable of. And then you know how to move forward in the face of doubt.

I think this one minute practice is going to be really helpful for that, because even in my own journey, thankfully, I have incredible mentors, a fantastic support network of fellow entrepreneurs or people who've just followed my journey for so long and who can champion my greater vision when it's harder for me to have it for myself.

But I will reach out to them as well when perhaps, you know, the outcome isn't exactly the way that I thought if I pitched a client and the clients didn't come through, or however, it's going to look, you're going to have to deal with those moments of disappointment or making sure that you're not interpreting external outcomes that you can't control as some sort of judgment against yourself.

Today's practice is for those moments of doubt or reflection, or when you just need a little bit more juice to keep on moving forward in the pursuit of your dreams. Remember it that when you are doing something that's against the traditional mold of what's tried and true and accepted, you are going to face just this kind of profound energy around you, of other people who are doing the thing that they've been taught to do.

And that's totally fine if your personality fits that. You know, we talked about in the human design interview episode 26, where we interview Victoria Jane, and she talks about how to live in more flow and less hustle because you're living aligned to what your purposefully built to do, how you are made as a person, what you are energetically, spiritually, astrologically, you know, mentally, emotionally, all built to do.

But if you are built for something different than what the world tells you is okay or acceptable, it can be very challenging. And I mean, even soul crushing at times to wonder why am I trying to go against the grain? Or why do I feel called and compelled to do something? When the easier path would be to choose option B or option C rather than option a, which is the thing that's in front of me right now.

Now, wherever you are, see if you can find a comfortable space. And this comfortable space may be going outside. If you've been sitting all day and just feeling the air on your skin, the sun around you, letting yourself stretch a moment, or maybe you've been moving too much. And you want to find a sense of stillness, a sense of calm. Check in with yourself and find where that space is for you.

I’m encouraging you to bring your awareness to your breath now because your breath is the thread that weaves your entire life together. You will always have your breath with you. You will always be able to take a deeper inhale when you need that renewed, revitalized energy, that burst of confidence in yourself.

And you can take a big or exhale when you need to let that energy go. Making sure you're not taking on anything that doesn't belong to you. Returning it all back to where it goes and also being responsible and calling all parts of yourself back to you.

So today's practice is a reminder that everything is always working out for you. Everything. Everything through forces, both seen and unseen. Everything is always working out for you. You may not know what that is. It may appear on the surface that things are not quite aligned to how you would like them to look.

But your perspective is one perspective and there's a greater broader perspective. Maybe there are other people who need to come into your life, who aren't quite ready yet. Maybe there are other factors, other opportunities for a yes. Over a no, or for a no. When you think you need it to be a yes. All to get every piece aligned so that everything continues to work out for you.

Can you be present in this moment?

Can you begin to subtly reframe your mindset so that rather than the stress and the worry that might be coming up, you start to envision what it would be like. If everything worked out, if everything, whether you know, how that will unfold or not is working out, how would that feel in your body?

How would that feel in your entire being? How would it feel in your heart, in your soul, in your spirit to feel you are exactly where you were meant to. You are doing exactly the thing you were meant to do this moment right here right now is the lesson that you are meant to experience. And whether that's pulling from that inner wisdom to continue to move forward, connecting to a sense of greater faith, relying upon support and help that everything is always working out for you.

Everything is always working out for you. Taking another big, deep breath in,

And a big, deep breath out. Two more in, out.

One more biggest breath all day.

Biggest sigh, exhalation letting go all day.

And to close this practice to carry you throughout the rest of your day or your evening. Repeat this idea in your mind, anytime that you find yourself veering towards patterns of thinking that you'd like to shift or moving into the doubt and uncertainty saying to yourself, “Everything is always working out for me”.

Everything is always working out for me. Everything is always working out for me.

And then as you get ready to flow your eyes open, bringing a smile to your lips, coming back into the room, back into the present. Thank you so much for joining me today. I look forward to seeing you next week.
